SFDanceworks is a contemporary repertory company in San Francisco, founded by James Sofranko in 2014.
SFDanceworks is dedicated to the past, present, and future of dance as an art form through high quality live performance, featuring the choreography of dance masters and current established artists, as well as emerging talent. SFDanceworks is a repertory company and strives to cultivate new artists and present commissioned work on a regular basis.
SFDanceworks Inaugural Season was co-presented with the ODC Theater in June of 2016 to sold out houses and critical acclaim. The season featured works by choreographers Lar Lubovitch, Alejandro Cerrudo, Penny Saunders, Dana Genshaft, and James Sofranko.
The sold out Season Two in June of 2017 featured the US premiere of Christopher Bruce’s Shadows, as well as works by Alejandro Cerrudo, Danielle Rowe, Penny Saunders, and a world premiere by James Graham.
